The Sierra 1500 also offers an available 5.3L engine that delivers unsurpassed V8 fuel efficiency in its class with max trailer ratings up to 10,700 lbs, thanks to an increased power output of 315 hp and 335 lb-ft of torque with a six-speed automatic transmission, standard on the SLT and up. The Heavy-Duty Handling/Trailering Suspension Package also comes standard on the SL and up, which adds 44 mm piston monotube shocks and a 36 mm front stabilizer bar. The 4.8L V8 two-wheel drive trims get an impressive EPA-estimated 14 MPG city/19 MPG hwy, while the four-wheel drive versions get a 13 MPG city/18 MPG hwy rating. For the WT trim, a 4.3L V6 engine is standard.
